Big Spring Country Club Details
Big Spring Country Club was established in 1926 by Harry Dumesnil and Alvah H. Terry. The Club was named for Beargrass Creek, which is located just below the 13th green and runs through holes 6, 7 & 12. Located on 163 acres and easily accessible from both I-64 and the Watterson Expressway, Big Spring Country Club has provided families and individuals in the Louisville Metro Area an exclusive home to enjoy fine dining, championship golf, unparalleled swimming and tennis facilities and fellowship and camaraderie among its members for almost 90 years.Big Spring features a challenging 18-hole championship-style golf course, full-length driving range and practice areas, state-of-the-art tennis complex with four hard courts and four clay courts, junior Olympic sized swimming pool with two 1 meter diving boards and a beautiful Clubhouse for all of your dining and social needs. Our staff is committed to providing the members a first-class experience each and every time they come to the Club.
Harmony Landing Country Club planted its roots in 1929, when John C. Pierce and some friends purchased 180 acres of farm in Oldham County and started a golf club called Green Fields Country Club. George Davies, a nationally known architect at the time, was contracted to lay out an 18-hole golf course, which operated for several years. Unfortunately, as the great depression loomed, the project ulitmately failed.
In the fall of 1952, several interested people met to consider the possibility of starting a new Country Club east of Louisville. the 430 acre farm that was located now on Harmony Landing Road was chosen, and Mr. Davies was located to put the course back into condition. The Articles of Incorporation for Harmony Landing Country Club were filed on September 19, 1953.
Harmony Landing features a unique 18-hole championship-style golf course, full-length driving range and practice areas, active tennis complex with six clay courts, junior-Olympic sized swimming pool with diving boards, a gorgeous Clubhouse and convenient casual dining options for our members and guests.
In April of 2014, Big Spring Country Club and Harmony Landing Country Club merged into one consolidated Club, giving our members access to two beautiful facilites for one membership and making Big Spring Country Club, Inc. the premier family country club in the Louisville area.
